Saw this neato eMusic widget the other day… and I finally popped it onto the GT sidebar. I can’t say I’m very excited about today’s mp3, but hey it will be a different tomorrow (I think). And if you really love music, you should consider eMusic’s subscription use it or lose it sales model.

that IS cool—but also very large. Oh, I see, it’s nice and resized to your sidebar. Wondering if you feel compromised at all (not that I’m judging)—since it’s essentially an ad—albeit one that give free things!

I don’t feel compromised at all. I heartily endorse eMusic. I link to them in almost every post I put up. I don’t receive any money for anything I put in my sidebar. In fact, I pay eMusic money every month. They are my first stop when buying digital music, though I wish they would add a la carte song purchasing. If eMusic really wants to compete with iTunes and Amazon, they are going to realize that all music consumers do NOT want a subscription based music store. Your average music consumer do not want to deal with the “use it or lose it” point based system that eMusic uses. It works great for me, but I’m a freak.
