q: What is the last song you (really) heard?
a: “Dive” by Nirvana.
q: What is your most common reaction to hearing your own music?
a: If I’m with a group of people I can be weird about it and want it turned off. If I’m alone I turn it up.
q: What is your favorite artist/band to see live?
a: Guided by Voices.
q: What is your favorite venue (in NYC, if applicable)?
a: I spent most of my hanging out in music venues years in Chicago. Fireside Bowl or Empty Bottle were my favorite places to play and see bands.
q: What piece(s) of culture are you really really excited about right now?
a:The upcoming Taken By Savages album.
q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?
a: This latest tape is the first where I truly played all the instruments. Meaning, I got a used drum set and beat the heck out of it even though I don’t really know what I’m doing. It was the most fun I’ve had making music in probably 10 years.
