Big Pauper (f/k/a Panzah Zandahz) has a new LP entitled Beyond My Means. The album drops on April 26th via Circle Into Square and Fake Four. The Portland producer/DJ/visual artist is producing some of our favorite instrumental hip hop of recent memory. Listen.

This here post is evidence of that fact. What follows is a compilation of all the tracks that have been stuck in my head all year long. Definitely check out the top 20 tracks, but also make sure you scroll through the whole list. Perhaps there is something down there that you missed (maybe)? Or to put it in terms that are “so 2010″, these songs are full of epic win.
This is my largest year end list yet (last year’s list is here), added up this list is over SEVEN HOURS of music. It was really difficult to edit down (it started with around 190 tracks). FYI: the Top 20 tracks should fit nicely onto a CD-R (if you still use that particular technology).

I am loving this pay-what-you-want Beck remix/mashup album from PDX DJ Big Pauper a/k/a PZ a/k/a Panzah Zandahz. It is called Aphids On The Lettuce, and it’s available from Big Pauper’s bandcamp page. Listen.
Big Pauper‘s Cops Eat Flowers EP will be available for download on October 26th from Circle Into Square. And, his full length album entitled Beyond My Means should drop this coming February.
The Corin Tucker Band features Ms. Corin Tucker of the indefinitely hiatused Sleater-Kinney, as well as Seth Lorinczi of Golden Bears and Sara Lund formerly of Unwound. Their yet-to-be-released album is entitled 1,000 Years. This track is reportedly more rocking than the rest of the album, so get excited but don’t expect the rest to this heavy, ok? Listen.
Oh and 1,000 Years is scheduled to hit stores on October 5th, so there isn’t really any preorderage just yet, but the album does have a Buy Olympia item number so it should not be too long. The KRS store is here.
