Hooray For Earth‘s debut album True Loves is coming out June 7 via Dovecote Records. We have been super-psyched for this album ever since we saw HFE at CMJ last year. The wait is almost over. Listen.

Justin Stivers has been super busy working on the Brain-Cave Festival (this Saturday @ Shea Stadium), so Justin Gonzales of Pet Ghost Project sent us these answers to our questions in this next installment of the q and also a series.
Editor’s Note: We cannot post the above video without including this fish smacking remix.
q: What is your favorite beverage?
a: Orange juice, especially fresh squeezed. Boring, eh?
q: What is your favorite band to see live?
a: Quiet Loudly! They’re a nice cocktail of old soul and R&B and psychedelic swirly loveliness. Great guys as well. I also enjoy the high energy country punk of Gunfight!, and the wackiness of MiniBoone.
I have regular cravings for the odd noise show here and there. Got to see Merzbow a few months ago, and it was a dream come true. I’m in need of a good free jazz show soon. The last great act I saw was Globe Unity Orchestra. The sounds coming from those horns were out of this world.
And I always enjoy Ghostface Killah‘s video complaining about low album sales. Cuz really, it’s the fans’ fault.
q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?
a: Well, our album Shelf Life has finally been put out there after what felt like an eternity!! I also have another top secret project that involves surfing, math, and Reason.
Editor’s Note: Justin and Justin recently released this statement:
wow, so this is it. after 7 plus years of having pet ghost project be such a huge portion of my life i sort of feel like i’m amputating a limb or something. well, so it goes…
anyways, the long and the short of it is this Saturday (4/9) at 6pm will be the last time that we bring pet ghost to the stage, from here on out PGP will be a recording experiment (which is exactly how it began, its come full circle. poetry). dont be sad though, lots of fun surprises and news that we will be disclosing at Brain-Cave Festival this weekend.
for those of you lovely people who have supported us over the years…we simply cannot thank you enough! remember, this isnt the end we (justin gonzales and justin stivers that is) just have some fun neeeeew stuff in store for ya and putting PGP as a side project just really makes sense at the moment. we are just using PGP as a place to jump off from; we’ve learned a lot and its time for us to move along and also up the ante with new things (as vague as that is). 7 years is quite a while to be apart of anything, this has a been a really interesting ride but this is the best and most appropriate way of parting ways with this band…amongst all of our best friends and amongst so many amazing bands.
to all of you peoples who live in faraway lands and cannot attend the last pet ghost shin-dig: don’t worry because this show should be well documented (audio and video). also pleeeeeeeease stay tuned and keep checking in on us, we will be uploading all of the past PGP albums on our bandcamp and we’ll also be posting all these fun surprises with in the next couple of weeks!!! more details and surprises shall be revealed soonish, we’ll keep you posted.
in the meantime, come to brooklyn this weekend and party it up with us.
