- Tullycraft report that The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are gonna be on Carson Dailyhere.

In case you haven’t heard, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart are going to appear on Last Call With Carson Daily this Wednesday (April 1st). You may ask yourself: “Is this a good thing? Carson Daily is a tool!” It’s true, Carson Daily is a total tool, and his show is terrible, but you gotta be happy for Mike at Slumberland Records. He’s been fighting the good fight for a long time and he deserves for one of his bands to play on national television.

Here is a handy google search to find the footage when it shows up on youtube. I do not recommend watching it live.

mp3s: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart Mixtape

Mining 2009.sxsw.com, Vol. 9

Next up on out little continuing series of SXSW-related mp3s is The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart who are playing all over place during SXSW (not as much as The Mae Shi, but hey… they set a pretty high bar).

I’ve said it before, TPOBPAH sound like an amalgamation of a bunch of late 80′s-early 90′s college rock, but at the same time they does NOT sound dated. We first heard about them last year in The L Magazine’s 8 NYC Bands You Need to Hear article. There’s an old GT blogspot post about that here. Well, as you may know The Pains have been quite mp3friendly, so I thought I would go and compile all their mp3s that have been floating around the internets and plop them into one handy post. Without further ado, I give you The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart Mixtape:

Downloadables:
Come Saturday (sxsw mp3)
Everything With You (slumberand mp3)
Doing All the Things That Wouldn’t Make Your Parents Proud (mp3)
Kurt Cobain’s Cardigan (mp3)
Orchard of My Eye (cloudberry mp3)
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (mp3)
A Teenager In Love (mp3)
This Love Is Fucking Right! (mp3)
Young Adult Friction (force field mp3)

Oh shit, did I mention they are playing a sold out show tonight at The Bell House? Well, they are. They also have two other upcoming NYC-related tourdates: May 12 @ Bowery Ballroom + June 18 @ Cake Shop.

Question: Are you one of the people who think The Pains sound like a poppier version of Black Tambourine? If not, take a listen: Black Car (slumberland mp3)

Another Question: Is it possible for me to mention The Mae Shi and not post an mp3 from them? Not this time… Boys In The Attic (mp3)
