mp3 :: Shattered Darlings & Liquid Kisses > Radio

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Shattered Darlings & Liquid Kisses come straight outta Valley Stream L.I. (home of Slothbear). Instead of labelling their music with that so overused term lofi, let’s call it postgrunge. You can download the whole of Shattered Darlings & Liquid Kisses self-titled self-released full length album over at mediafire (a/k/a the bane of the old recording industry). But first, why not hear what they are laying down? Listen.

mp3 :: Slothbear > Little Qid

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Wait a sec, Slothbear’s self-produced full length debut, Qids never received a post here on GIMME TINNITUS. My apologies. The band combines jangly 90’s guitar tones with a spacey ethereal quality that will get stuck in your head. So, if you just want a taste of Slothbear and don’t want to invest in downloading a whole zip, listen to this.

mp3 :: Slothbear > Killed By Cars

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

So, the new Slothbear digital 7″ has a sound that I love. It is the sound of jangle and distortion. Think of the guitar tone of a mid-90’s Western Mass indierock band. This release is (I assume) a teaser for a full length named Qids. Is this perhaps a play on the latin quater in die or maybe an intentionally misspelling of Kids? I’m guessing the later but I don’t think I care as long as the rest of it sounds something like this…
