Mission Of Burma‘s new Bob Weston-produced album is entitled The Sound The Speed The Light. According to Matablog, “all the Burma trademarks are also present: the military snare drum, the melodic basslines high up on the neck, and the furiously experimental guitarwork, refracted and changed back into the songs via tape loops – all punctuated by the hoarse shouts of drummer Peter Prescott” The album drops this Fall on October 6th. Roger Miller has described the album thusly: “Casual but pretty rock. Doesn’t seem to suck.” Listen…

And yes, that’s “party” with an extra Y in the song title. Is this the beginning of the extra letter invasion on song titles? Maybe. They have already attacked band names (e.g. Wavves, Miike Snow, UUVVWWZ, Lovvers, and there are probably others but I can’t think of them now).
