Under Color of Official Right is the 2nd long playing album by Detroit’s own Protomartyr, who seem to be everywhere all of a sudden (though maybe it’s just me). Their Hardly Art debut is pretty much a post-punk masterpiece. It nods to it’s influences while at the same time fells completely fresh and new and also scummy. Under Color of Official Right was recorded in a single weekend with Bill Skibbe and Jessica Ruffins (Wolf Eyes, Lower Dens, Tristeza, The USA Is a Monster, Jacuzzi Boys, etc) at Key Club Recording Studio in Benton Harbor, MI.
