q and also a :: Fat Heaven

Gayla, Jack and Travis of Fat Heaven sent us these answers to our questions in this next installment q and also a.

q: What is the last song you (really) heard?

gayla: “I Am You” by Off With Their Heads.

jack: “Radio” by Rancid. Had to practice our Halloween set ;)

travis: “Timecop” by Iron Chic.

q: What is the first album you remember purchasing?

gayla: Nsync NO STRINGS ATTACHED (haha)

jack: Loud, Fast Ramones: Their Toughest Hits upon the suggestion of my older sister. Thanks Rachael!

travis: Pretty sure it was Smashes, Thrashes, & Hits by Kiss

q: What is the last album that you purchased?

gayla: I honestly have no clue, spent 20 minutes thinking about it.

jack: Elliott Smith’s self-titled vinyl.

travis: Though Gayla doesn’t remember, her most recent purchases were actually 2 cassettes for the van consisting of NOFX’s Liberal Animation and Social Distortion’s Prison Bound. As for myself, other than a couple of cd’s I’ve bought from friends to help with tour expenses it was probably Hey Grandma and the Greatest Hits by No Parents. Its over 30 songs for $5. That’s a good deal.

q: What piece(s) of culture are you really really excited about right now?

gayla: I’m excited about memes right now. Especially doggo memes.

jack: The newest Against Me! record as well as Laura Jane Grace’s new memoir. Looking forward to reading it!

travis: I’m really looking forward to the new Scarboro album.

q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?

gayla: It’s pretty cool.

jack: ’Tough Luck’ was recorded, mixed, and produced ourselves between Studio G Brooklyn and our basement Moffat Heaven. Mastered by Matt Labozza. Lots of time and hard work went into it, and I hope you truly enjoy it.

travis: Basically what Jack said. We worked real hard on this for a long time. I take pride knowing that we did pretty much everything ourselves.
