q and also a :: The Hood Internet

When I think of mashing indie rock and hop hip, one name comes to mind… The Hood Internet. Here are the answers they sent us in our continuing q and also a series.

q: What is the last song you (really) heard?

a: Odessa by Caribou. So good.

q: What is your favorite food?

a: Tacos.

q: What is your favorite band to see live?

a: Broken Social Scene.

Listen:
World Sick (mp3)
Canada vs. America (mp3)

q: What is your favorite venue in NYC (if applicable)?

a: The Bell House in Brooklyn has always been really good to us. Santos Party House is also really cool.

q: OK, President Obama appoints you as the first Secretary of Culture, to whom do you give your first grant?

a: The Chicago Edit Club. (“Some people have knitting circles. [They] have an edit club.”)

Recently Posted: Stomp (Only Children Edit) (soundcloud link) by The Brothers Johnson

q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?

a: We’re working on an album of original production and getting some contributions from friends. No mashups involved. Hopefully it will be awesome.

Here are the two tracks that The Hood Internet sent our way.

Listen:
I Dream Of Capricorn (Anti-Pop Consortium vs Maps) (mp3)
The XX Gon’ Give It To Ya (DMX vs The XX) (mp3)
