q and also a :: Motico

Matt & Chris of Motico sent us these answers to our questions in this next installment of q and also a.

q: What is the last song you (really) heard?

c: Dick Move (mp3) by Cobretti

q: What is your favorite food?

m: Gummi worms

c: Baba Ganouj from Sahadi’s

q: What is your favorite band to see live?

a: Between us probably Shellac. Or USAISAMONSTER but they are now sadly defunct.

Listen: Copper (mp3) by Shellac

Listen: Watch Song (mp3) by Shellac

Listen: Riff Scientist (mp3) by USAISAMONSTER

Listen: Cocaine Wedding (mp3) by USAISAMONSTER

q: What is your favorite venue in NYC (if applicable)?

a: Market Hotel, it’s too big, but how often do you get to say that about a new york venue?
(Update: Our beloved Market Hotel is closed. Which either makes our mention of it lame or prophetic. I can’t think of any place that supersedes it yet, though, so I guess we’ll stand on it.)

q: OK, President Obama appoints you as the first Secretary of Culture, to whom do you give your first grant?

a: The Builders Association, a really cool non-profit theatre company based in NYC.

q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?

a: Our first full length album is coming soon, which we’re pretty excited about. It’s our best work so far. We’ve written a lot of songs and most of the best one’s are on this album. There will be vinyl involved. We can’t wait for you to hear it.

Here is a track from said new album, Misuser.

Listen: Fort Awesome (mp3)

Here is an older demo.

Listen: Electronic Detective (mp3)

And here is the A-side to the Gotta Be In It To Win It 7 Inch (back from the three piece days).
