q and also a :: the Cult of Lip

Ronnie of Minneapolis-based noise poppers the Cult of Lip (f/k/a VATS) sent us these answers to our questions in this next installment of q and also a

q: What is the last song you (really) heard?

a: Galaxie 500 – Another Day

q: What is the first album you remember purchasing?

a: I got a copy of Weezer’s Blue Album on CD from a friend when I was in the 7th grade.

q: Is there an album you wished you knew about when you were younger?

a: Every/any Spacemen 3 album.

q: What is the last album you purchased?

a: “Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll”

q: What is your favorite artist/band to see live?

a: Flavor Crystals are a really great live band, every time I see American Cream they do something different and always pull it off really well, and Ringo Deathstarr is maybe one of the most consistently on-point live bands that I’ve ever seen. I guess I’ve got a lot of favorites.

q: How exactly did you name your band?

a: The old-fashioned way: with a pen, a piece of paper and raging insomnia.

q: What piece(s) of culture are you really really excited about right now?

a: At the risk of sounding negative, not much. There’s a lot of great music and art being made right now though, it just takes extra work to filter out the filler sometimes.

q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?

a: We have a lot of unrecorded material we’re working on, more videos coming and at least a full-length & EP coming in the next year or so.
