mp3 :: Back to the Future the Ride > Full Moon on an Empty Planet

Back To The Future The Ride is Brian Miller of Foot Village. As BttFtR he creates “super mellow drone music inspired by the cold tech-capitalist 80s.”

Brian’s very own label Deathbomb Arc will be releasing the latest BttFtR effort entitled Tron Legacy on December 7th as a free digital album in uncompressed wav format. Perhaps you remember this track from a recent Friday Night Vids post?

Brian explains:

When I saw the first trailers for the movie Tron Legacy, I was very excited. I think it looks beautiful and does exactly what the first one did: create a fairy tale about contemporary technology…The romanticism of the first Tron moves me like few other films do, and with my own version of the Tron Legacy soundtrack I am sharing my extended vision of that world. A counterpoint to what the film Tron Legacy must be. Back To The Future The Ride is an act conceived of from the get go as rudimentary futurism, time travel in the hands of everyone. My album, Tron Legacy, is a journey down an alternate time line in which the advancements of today’s world were made not only with yesterday’s technology, but with yesterday’s less commercialized, more home-grown love of the tools.

And here is the tracklisting:

  1. The re-Dawn of Distance
  2. CGI Fridays
  3. Surface to Air Hieroglyph
  4. Full Moon on an Empty Planet
  5. Sleep on Stars Tonight

Look forward to more exploration of “romantic ideas” in 2011.
