Beach Fossils are set to release their What a Pleasure EP on February 22nd via the Captured Tracks label. The band is crafting tunes that seem to be time-traveling in from a college radio station playing “modern rock” sometime in 1987. Bring on the jangle. Listen.
Continuing our best of 2010 coverage we now look at some of the awesome songs recorded by our pals at Daytrotter this year. And I will just go and say it… Daytrotter is quite possibly my favorite places to find music on the internet. If you are not clicking over there at least one a week, you are really missing out. Yes, you have to register and use their java-based downloader thingy, but it is so worth it. These are our favorite Daytrottin’ tracks of 2010. Listen.

When I think of Canadian post-vocal indie rock, I think of one band and one band only, Holy Fuck. You should totally purchase their new album, Latin @ Beggars.

Headquartered in LA (via Philly), the duo of Geoffrey Halliday and Ryan James Sweeney are known as Hands. They are purveyors of what I will call experimental indiefolksynthpop.
