So I guess the stated purpose of this is get you to download or at least listen to a track off Hudson Mohawke’s newish “turbosoul” downtempo album entitled Butter.

But what is really going on is that I think you should play the videogame called Butter Star Galactica. There is a long tradition of music-themed videogames see for example Journey by Journey or say Destroy by FlyLo. The game was put together by Remote Location (the same team who did Destroy). Anyway, in this videogame, you play a fast-moving piece of butter. Need I say anything more?

As you may already know, Adult Swim has a long history of releasing rad mixtapes. It all started with the Occult Hymn EP by Danger Doom. Then came: Definitive Swim (Def Jux themed), Warm And Scratchy (indie rock themed), Ghostly Swim (Ghostly Int’l themed), and most recently African Swim (African hip hop themed). Now Adult Swim has a new mixtape entitled ATL RMX, which teams up Atlanta rappers with a wide variety of remixers. And now a couple of tracks from said free mixtape.

The album is a cross-promotion for Rockstar’s app named Beaterator, which is a Timbaland-inspired remix app.

Nick Noeding Jr. is busy. Besides his Shoegaze/Down-tempo/Acousmatic/Tape music solo work as Pollination, he is also currently involved in the following projects Day Of The Woman (w/ Yppah and Stenographer), Collider (a Yppah collab), 10k Cities (a Zoomzip collab), and Slow (a Stenographer collab). And then there is also his wildlife analysis photography. Oh, and he also plays in Yppah’s live band.

So we were pretty excited to received a mixtape from Nick the other day.
