mp3 :: Bleached > You Take Time

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

I have been meaning to post this super catchy track from Jessica and Jennifer Clavin a/k/a Bleached for a while now. Bleached is just one of the bands formed out of the ashes of Mika Miko (see also Dunes and Cold Showers). Their Carter 7″ was released in late July, and is already sold out. Here is the b-side.

Listen.

Downloadable: You Take Time (mp3)

Hopefully, the duo will play some shows in the NYC area in the not-too-distant future.

friday night vids :: Foot Village + Signals + Dunes

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Here is some footage from the time I finally got to see Foot Village perform live. There were a few brains melted that day. Also fingers were cut. Thanks to Smashing Chair for the video.

You know that time I saw Foot Village? Well, it just so happens that I missed seeing Mae Shi offshoot Signals who played later that day. Needless to say, I was pissed. Anyway, grab their Supple Youth Mixtape… here.

Also on the bill that night was post-Mika Miko band, Dunes. Props go to http://yvynyl.tumblr.com/ for pointing out this video.

While I was in LA this past weekend, I was able to check out some of the Origami Vinyl LA Approved Show @ Bar Melody. Here are some photos and mp3s…

First up is Future Ghost.

I also wanted to check out Dunes (featuring Kate Hall (ex-Mika Miko) and Stephanie Chan of Finally Punk);

Listen: Handle (mp3)

You can see a few more photos of the show (including Foot Village‘s blood splattered drums) over at GIMME Tumblr.

I should point out that Pity Party and Monstro were also on the bill.
