So this post contains (pretty much) all of my favorite mp3s from 2009. I have not put them in any sort of preferential order. These are sorted by artist in alphabetical order.

The Cameo EP by ZAZA was recently recommended to me. After a little digging, I found out that they have been touring with GT favs The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart (and yes, I missed the show last night). I also found out that ZAZA’s EP is available for free… here. It is filled with lots of echo echo and catchydreamyshoegazey goodness.

Is it still ok to use the term shoegaze while talking about something influenced by MBV? Should I start using the “s***gaze”? Might this be misinterpreted? Anyway, take a listen then make with the downloading.

In case you haven’t heard, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart are going to appear on Last Call With Carson Daily this Wednesday (April 1st). You may ask yourself: “Is this a good thing? Carson Daily is a tool!” It’s true, Carson Daily is a total tool, and his show is terrible, but you gotta be happy for Mike at Slumberland Records. He’s been fighting the good fight for a long time and he deserves for one of his bands to play on national television.

Here is a handy google search to find the footage when it shows up on youtube. I do not recommend watching it live.
