best of 2013 :: Pay-What-You-Want/Free Releases
Here’s 23 awesome releases from 2013 that used either the pay-what-you-want model or required an email to download or were just straight up free. I’ve included some sort of streaming media and an mp3 for all the albums below. Now stream up some amazing music and go pay-what-you-want (where available), and remember, if you download something for $0 but then find yourself listening to it over and over, you can always go back a buy it properly for a significantly higher price (and/or buy band merch and/or go to shows and buy directly frrom the band). The pay-what-you-want model (or giving away an album) is a great way for an artist to increase the number of people listening to their music, but it also a way for the listener to connect with the artist and show support. I guess what I am trying to say is that you should give $$ to artists. Every dollar matters.
