Turbine is Scott Thiessen (of rRope) and David Barrett (of The Vienna Noise Choir). For over two decades, they have been “tending to a garden of electronics and noise guitar”. The band has a new cassette, Lherbuchsuite, that was recorded last summer at their Brick Factory studio. It features Brian Kinsman (of Foot Village + True Neutral) and Ricky Wayne Garrett (of Inferno of Joy) on “dueling drums”. Deathbomb Arc is releasing the cassette later this year (in May), but the digital is available now. This right here is track number two.

Foot Village is about ready to release their fourth full-length. Make Memories comes out on March 1st via Northern Spy Records, and was recorded and mastered by Rik Dowding at Portishead‘s studio in Bristol, UK. Also, it should be noted that Foot Village has added a member known as Citizen Loveridge (who you may know from Beak> and Fairhorns).

Northern Spy said this:

Their first three albums constituted a trilogy, telling the abstract story of the first city formed after the apocalypse. The city rose. The city reached glory. The city fought wars. The city crumbled. Now Foot Village has returned from this world of fantasy to our own. Both in the form of a warning and hope.

Broken to Piano for President is a story of “a noise band caught up in a conspiracy involving fast food moguls and international space programs,” by Patrick Wensink. Well, Deathbomb Arc is releasing Broken to Piano for President as a cassette audiobook with True Neutral performing the accompanying score.

True Neutral is Brain Miller’s new musical project. You may know Miller from his work in drum ‘n’ shout hardcore band foot village, or perhaps from his ambient project Back to the Future the Ride, or maybe from the avantpunk of Gang Wizard. With True Neutral, he is composing scores to audiobooks. Contributing performances to the score are Brian Chippendale (of Lightning Bolt and Black Pus), Ezra Buchla (ex-Gowns), and Christina Gubala (Oedipa Maas and DJ Technical D’s).

The audio book contains an abridged version of Broken to Piano for President on Side A with the score. Side B is just the score without readings, plus the theme song for the novel. This right here is said theme song.
