q: What piece(s) of culture are you really really excited about right now?

m: I must say the The Met’s production of The Ring of the Nibelung is fascinating and monumental. Wagner would be proud of “The Machine”! Can’t afford the real tickets but the seats in my local movie theatre are comfy and the simulcast provides close-ups and interviews with the stars as they exit the stage. Looking forward to seeing what they do with Siegfried this fall.

q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?

r: We’re looking forward to touring in September and October to promote our latest release, Making Mountains. We also working on new material for a possible 2012 full length…

Rob Montejo and Monika Bullette perform under the moniker The Sky Drops. The duo has been hard at work on a new EP of DIY fuzzpop. Here is the first single. The drums were reportedly tracked in Monika’s living room and all the rest was recorded/mixed an old garden shed that Rob calls the studio. Listen.
