mp3 :: Obits > You Gotta Lose
We are very excited for this post as it features a new track by Brooklyn’s own Obits, who last effort was one of our Most Awesome Albums of 2009. The new album is called Moody, Standard and Poor, and is set to be released on March 29 via the venerable Sub Pop label.
Now, I have seen Obits described “post-hardcore” a number of times, and yes, there are elements of post-hardcore here, but ladies and gentlemen… this is rock and roll. As they used to say: here’s Side 1, Track 1. Listen.

In other news, the Obits track “Two Headed Coin†(mp3) is now available on GUITAR HERO for the iPhone (if you are into that sort of thing, I mean maybe you’d rather spend some time actually learning to play guitar? maybe? ok). Anyway, more deets… here
And, did you check out Sohrab’s side project The Forgery Series doing a Nerves cover? If not, click here like now.

I think this is a little more Hot Snakes sounding then anything on the last album. Though toned down a bit. One of your favorite bands break up you always long for it.. Still I’ll come out for Rick or John in any project they put out.
