q and also a :: Mux Mool

Mux Mool sent us these answers to our questions in this next installment of our q and also a series.

q: What is the last song you (really) heard?

a: If you mean heard as in really struck me, I think the last time I really felt that strongly was hearing Glorious Dawn remix of Carl Sagan on symphonyofscience.com. That shit gave me the chills for a while.

Streamable: Glorious Dawn (Cosmos Remixed) w/ Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking

Downloadable: Glorious Dawn (Cosmos Remixed) (mp3)

q: What is your favorite beverage?

a: Current favorite, lightly sweetened Iced Tea. All time: Coffee.

q: What is your favorite band to see live?

a: I haven’t gone to see a band in quite a while. I saw Empire of the Sun at Terminal 5 a while back, that was very cool. But my favorite thing to see live is good drumming. So in that case, Shigeto. Go see him drum, it’s incredible. Oh, and I’d like to see GWAR someday. Stellar live performance.

Downloadable: After The Smoke (mp3) by Shigeto
(d/l the What We Held On To EP @ iamshigeto.com)

Streamable: Gor-Gor by GWAR

Editor’s Note: how could I not include this??

Streamable: GWAR on Joan Rivers (youtube)

q: What is your favorite venue in NYC (if applicable)?

a: I think Le Poisson Rouge is a legit place to play. There are many many venues and I don’t get to see them all, I think Club Love is pretty cool too (although I’ve never played there) My favorite places anywhere are places with quiet and private green rooms tho. I like quiet time, A LOT!!!

q: What piece(s) of culture are you really really excited about right now?

a: I’m still excited to see the next evolution of musicians. Musicians today have to hustle so much harder to make it, and we’re all adapting the best we can. We’re all a lot more industry savvy, certainly much more than we’ve ever had to be before. I’m also excited for netflix, youtube, cable, and network TV to eventually all combine into one channel where all you have to do is type in what you want to watch and it’s there. No more fucking commercials, just whatever you can think of, all video ever recorded into one GIANT collection that you can stream in your home. Also, I would like rappers to start rapping again. I don’t know if that’s even in the works tho.

q: Anything we should know about your latest project (whatever that might be)?

a: Latest project, Just finished the 2nd Drum EP, and steadily working on my 2nd full length for Ghostly. I’m also doing a bunch of collabs in a few different directions musically. AND doing some proper remixes for some big names that you might hear soon.
